Albion Meter10
What is Albion Meter?
A free damage and healing meter for Albion Online. It runs on your own computer, reads the network traffic the game client already receives and shows, live, the DPS, HPS, total damage, total healing, weapons and each item’s contribution for the whole party. Every record is kept on your PC, and you can publish it on AlbionLab.
Does the meter touch the game?
No. It only observes the network packets the game already receives on your computer. It does not inject code, read the client’s memory, send anything to the game servers or automate any action.
Can I get banned for using it?
Albion Meter is a passive observer: it never changes the client or plays for you, which is what the game’s rules are about. Sandbox Interactive does not publish a list of approved tools, though, so like any third-party program it is used at your own discretion.
Why does it ask for administrator rights or my password?
Reading network traffic needs that permission from the system. On Windows, accept the administrator prompt when the meter opens; on Linux, type your password once to allow packet capture. The meter uses it for nothing else.
What do I need to install?
Nothing else with the Windows installer, the AppImage or the .deb: they already include everything and update themselves. Only the ZIP and tar.gz packages need Microsoft’s free .NET Runtime 10 and ASP.NET Core Runtime 10. Npcap is optional. The tutorial has the download links.
Do I need Npcap on Windows?
No. The default is the system socket, which only needs administrator rights. If you install Npcap, you can choose it in the Capture tab.
Does it run on Linux?
Yes. There is an AppImage, a .deb for Debian and Ubuntu, and a tar.gz. The libpcap capture method is optional, like Npcap on Windows.
How does it update?
The desktop app checks for new versions on its own, downloads them in the background and offers “Restart and update”. If you wait, the update installs when you close the meter. The version you run is shown next to the name in the top bar.
When should I start the capture?
Before you enter the map. That way the meter sees the zone and the party from the start. Started mid-fight, it still records everything, but players it has not identified yet show as unidentified until the packets confirm who they are.
Where are my records kept?
On your computer, in the meter’s own database, whether or not you use AlbionLab. You can copy the result as text or an image and download a CSV of any record.
Reading the numbers8
What is the difference between DPS (5s) and the average?
DPS (5s) is the damage per second of the last five seconds, so it shows who is hitting right now. The average divides the whole damage by the encounter’s time.
What is “DPS in combat” on AlbionLab?
The rankings and player pages count only the seconds the party was actually fighting, between the player’s first and last hit, so time in town or between pulls never lowers anyone’s DPS or HPS.
Why do some players show "Weapon not observed"?
The game only sends other players’ gear at specific moments, such as entering a zone or an inspection. The meter only shows what the packets prove; damage per item still appears once its source is confirmed.
Is the healing shown effective healing?
It is the healing observed in packets. Overheal is not subtracted yet, so the number represents healing applied, not health actually restored.
Does damage include overkill?
Yes. Damage is what each hit dealt as the game reports it, including the part of the last hit that went past the target’s remaining health.
What is “damage by item and ability”?
Each number is split by the item that produced it (weapon, armour, helmet, boots, cape, food, potion) and by kind: ability, auto attack or passive. Only what the packets prove is shown.
Does it work with the whole party?
Yes. Every member who enters your field of view is recorded. Anyone not yet identified is kept and credited once their identity is confirmed.
Why do two meters in the same party show different numbers?
Each meter only sees what reaches its own client: a player on another floor or out of view is not recorded by it. On AlbionLab, recordings of the same moment are merged, and for each player the one that saw the most counts.
AlbionLab and sessions9
What is AlbionLab?
The site of Albion Meter. Connected meters publish each record there as a session, live while you play, with its timeline, every player’s weapons and the result of each floor. It also has the weekly and monthly rankings and a page for every player.
How do I connect the meter to my account?
Sign in on AlbionLab with Discord, then in the meter open the Meter tab, choose Connect account and approve the code it shows on the site. One account can have several PCs connected, and you can disconnect any of them on your account page.
What is a session?
Everything from Play to Stop in the meter. While it records, anyone with the link sees it live; when you press Stop, it ends and stays as it was.
What do public, unlisted and private mean?
Public sessions are listed on the site, can be found by search engines and count in the rankings. Unlisted ones open only with their link. Private ones only you can see. You can change it at any time on the session page.
How long are sessions kept?
Public sessions stay. Private and unlisted ones are deleted 7 days after their last update, and a session with no damage or healing at all is removed once it ends. Your local records in the meter are never touched.
Can I hide the other players’ names?
Yes. With “Hide names”, everyone but you appears as Player 1, Player 2 and so on. Sessions that hide names do not count in the rankings.
What if I forget to press Stop?
A session whose meter has been closed or disconnected for 10 minutes is ended as interrupted, and any session still open after 2 days ends on its own, so its players are counted.
Are there limits?
An account can have up to 2 sessions recording at the same time and start up to 30 sessions per hour.
How do I delete my account?
On your account page. The account, its sessions and its connected PCs are deleted after 7 days unless you cancel in the meantime. The records on your computer stay.
Rankings and player pages7
How does the ranking work?
It lists the players with the most damage or healing over the last 7 or 30 days, overall or with one weapon, with each player’s DPS or HPS in combat, their share of the party and their best session.
Which sessions count?
Ended, public sessions that show the players’ names, of parties with at least 5 players who each did at least 0.5% of the session’s damage and healing. A party can’t be padded with idle characters.
If two of us record the same fight, does it count twice?
No. Each player’s time is cut into 30-second slices by the site’s clock, and each slice counts once, from the recording that saw the most of it. Parts only one meter saw still count, so a player who joined or left mid-run keeps everything they did.
Why doesn’t the healing of my weapon count?
Healing counts only from healing weapons: the Holy Staff and Nature Staff lines. The healing other weapons show is life steal or a passive on their own wielder (Bear Paws, Shadowcaller, Black Monk Stave), which the meter records but is not healing the party.
Can someone fake their numbers?
The site makes it hard: the time of every second comes from the site’s own clock, only what reaches it live counts, a record sent twice counts once, and recordings that put one player in two places at the same time are left out and reviewed.
What is a player page?
albionlab.app/player/Name shows a player’s totals, their place in the current rankings, their weapons with the best session of each and every public session they were in. Totals use the same rules as the rankings.
How do I hide my name?
Ask on our Discord. Your character name is then scrambled and blurred in every session, including old ones, you leave the rankings and your player page becomes unavailable.
Privacy and data3
Does my data go to any server?
Only if you connect your AlbionLab account. Capture, processing and history always run on your computer. With an account connected, each record is also published as a session on AlbionLab, with the visibility you choose: private, unlisted or public. Without an account, nothing leaves your machine.
What exactly does AlbionLab receive?
Only the session itself: the players the meter saw with their names and weapons, damage and healing per second, the dungeon’s name and floors if you share the location, and a code that tells two places apart without saying which map it is. Never the raw packets, the chat or anything about your game account.
What does signing in with Discord share?
Your Discord name and avatar, shown on the sessions you publish. AlbionLab never sees your Discord password, messages or servers.
